The client and the goal
GrowPad is an AI search and SEO agency based in Alicante, Spain, working with B2B SaaS, tech and IT outsourcing companies.
Its goal was to be named in the answers founders get when they ask Google AI Mode, Perplexity or ChatGPT for “the best SEO agency for startups”. Those answers are built from listicles, rankings and comparison tables on other people’s sites. Getting onto them is link building and mention outreach: find the right page, find the right person, ask, negotiate, and keep track of what was agreed.
GrowPad agreed to be named; its CEO, Oleksii Andrusenko, is also a co-founder of GEOboom. The outreach thread comes from GrowPad’s live GEOboom account.
How GEOboom ran it
One thread with LymLyt, a SaaS content and SEO agency that publishes agency rankings on its blog. GEOboom sent from its own warmed-up mailbox, signed by GrowPad’s CEO. GrowPad’s part was to agree the terms.
- GEOboom27 August: first emailGEOboom wrote to LymLyt about its ranking “Top AI SEO Agencies for B2B SaaS in 2026”: GrowPad has related posts, would LymLyt consider a mutual mention?
- Publisher27 August: the offerLymLyt’s co-founder replied the same day: open to an exchange.
- Client31 August: agree the termsMatching positions on each side’s ranking. LymLyt asked for GrowPad’s text.
- Live14 September: placement liveLymLyt lists GrowPad at #4 in “9 Best SEO Agencies for Startups in 2026”. GrowPad lists LymLyt at #4 on its own ranking.

Sent from GEOboom’s mailbox, signed by GrowPad’s CEO. Addresses blurred.

The deal record tracks both sides of the exchange and shows each placement as live. No publisher fee was paid.
GrowPad’s row on AgilityPortal’s European ranking, the source Perplexity cites, also came through outreach in GEOboom.
What Google AI Overview says
Google lists five agencies. GrowPad’s line reads “Best for venture-backed SaaS startups (Seed to Series B) needing combined traditional SEO, commercial content, and LLM/AI search discovery.” The source chip on that line is LymLyt.
For the singular query the AI Overview lists six agencies and GrowPad is fourth. LymLyt’s page is again among the sources in the side panel.

Google AI Overview, “best seo agency for startups”, 23 October 2026.

Hover the chip and Google shows what it read: LymLyt’s page from the thread above, and a Synscribe listicle that also names GrowPad.

On LymLyt’s page GrowPad is row four of the “At a Glance” table.

“best seo agency for startup”: six agencies, GrowPad fourth, LymLyt among the sources.
What Perplexity says
“best seo agency for startups in spain”: 1st. Perplexity opens its startup-focused shortlist with Growpad: “One list names it best for seed to Series B SaaS startups, with a focus on AI-search optimization (GEO/LLMO) and technical SEO.”

Perplexity, 23 October 2026. The source cited is AgilityPortal.

Growpad is the first row of the comparison table: Spain, Seed to Series B, “Full GEO + LLMO”, five stars for LLMO depth.

Perplexity adds a caveat that most such rankings are published by agencies or affiliated sites. That is how these answers work: the AI reads the lists that exist and tells the reader what they say. Being on the list is what gets you into the answer.
Why it works
AI assistants answer “best X” questions from pages that already rank vendors: listicles, rankings, comparison tables. Get onto those pages and you get into the answer, often in more than one assistant at once.
In GrowPad’s case the chain ran from one email to LymLyt to second place in Google’s AI Overview. The AgilityPortal placement, also won in GEOboom, put GrowPad first in Perplexity.
What a placement like this costs
The LymLyt placement cost GrowPad half a credit, $0.50, on top of the monthly plan: one publisher contacted, no publisher fee.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Plan | $150 a month: 50 credits, 3 warmed-up mailboxes, unlimited users and projects, SEO data and placement monitoring included |
| Each publisher GEOboom writes to | 0.5 credit ($0.50), with every contact at that domain and all follow-ups included |
| Extra credits | $1 each |
| This placement: LymLyt | 0.5 credit. Publisher fee $0, a position exchange |
| Publisher fees | Paid by the client to the publisher directly and not included above. Paid offers typically run $40 to $200 |

What to apply, whether or not you use GEOboom
Run your buyers’ questions in Google AI Mode and Perplexity and open the source chips. Those pages are your prospect list.
Publishers who maintain rankings often want a matching mention. The LymLyt placement cost nothing but a reciprocal row.
A deal record with both sides marked live is what lets you tie an AI citation back to a specific email five weeks later.
Questions, answered
Something missing? .
Can GEOboom guarantee my company appears in Google AI Overview?
No. GEOboom gets you placed on the pages AI answers draw from. Which sources Google, Perplexity or ChatGPT use, and when, is their decision.
How long did it take here?
18 days from the first email to LymLyt to a live placement (27 August to 14 September 2026). The AI answers in this case were captured about five weeks after that.
Did GrowPad pay for the placement?
No. It was a position exchange: each side lists the other at #4 on its own ranking. Other offers are paid mentions or link insertions, typically $40 to $200, paid to the site directly.
Is this only for SEO agencies?
No. GrowPad happens to be an agency, so its market is “best SEO agency” lists. A software vendor, an IT services firm or a B2B tool has its own lists, and the same outreach applies to them.
Which AI assistants does this cover?
Any assistant that answers from web sources: Google AI Overview and AI Mode, Perplexity, ChatGPT search. This case shows Google and Perplexity.
How this case study was prepared
The outreach thread and deal record come from GrowPad's live GEOboom account. The AI answers were captured in Google (signed out, AI Overview on) and Perplexity on 23 October 2026; LymLyt's and AgilityPortal's ranking pages were opened the same day. Screenshots are cropped to the relevant part of the screen; email and postal addresses are blurred, publisher names are shown as they appear. AI answers vary with time, location and account, and each assistant decides which sources it uses: we show what the answers said and which pages they cited, not that one placement alone caused a citation. GrowPad agreed to be named. Prices are GEOboom's public list prices in October 2026 and may change.
