Pitchbox is the most complete outreach platform in link building, and one of the most expensive ways to start. It calls itself the AI Outreach Platform for link building and AEO: prospecting from keywords, SERPs, competitor backlinks or a CSV, contact finding, sequences sent from your own mailboxes, an AI Reply Agent that answers and negotiates, a CRM, white-label reports and link monitoring, all in one subscription. Plans run from $300 a month ($210 billed annually), and every plan is a one-year commitment whichever way you pay.
It is built for teams that already run link building as a process, 20+ links a month by Pitchbox's own definition, and it is strongest on exactly that: roles and approvals, campaign logic you design, digital PR alongside link building, and reporting a client will accept. It is weakest where you are small or starting from zero: you bring and warm the mailboxes, you build the prospect list from search, and you sign for a year before the first email goes out.
We checked every price and limit on pitchbox.com on October 27, 2026 and read the 99 reviews on G2 and 42 on Capterra. Disclosure: this review is written by GEOboom's team, which builds a competing outreach tool. We say so wherever it affects a judgement, and we list the cases where Pitchbox is the better choice.
Pitchbox at a glance
| What it is | Outreach platform for link building and digital PR; in Pitchbox's own words, "the AI Outreach Platform for link building and AEO" |
|---|---|
| Best for | Agencies and in-house teams building 20+ links a month, with their own prospects, templates and mailboxes |
| Not ideal for | Small teams, anyone unwilling to sign for a year, teams whose prospect list is the pages AI answers cite |
| Starting price | $300/mo monthly or $210/mo billed annually (Pro): 2 users, 2 email accounts, 2,000 outreach emails, 1 workspace |
| Contract | One year on every plan, regardless of billing frequency; annual billing saves 30% |
| Mailboxes | Your own Gmail, Microsoft 365, Exchange or SMTP; deliverability monitoring by MXRight included |
| Trial | Free trial, arranged through a demo call |
| Key strength | Depth: 20+ prospecting profiles, automation builder, AI Reply Agent, roles and approvals, white-label reports, API |
| Main limitation | You build and warm the infrastructure; one-year lock-in; no AI-citation prospect source |
| Ratings | 4.7/5 from 99 reviews on G2; 4.6/5 from 42 on Capterra; one review on Trustpilot |
| Verdict | The platform to pick when link building is a department. Overkill, and over budget, when outreach is one person's part-time job. |
Pitchbox pros and cons
Pros
- Everything in one place. Prospecting, contact finding, sequences, inbox, CRM, link monitoring and reports: no separate email finder, no sequencer, no spreadsheet holding it together.
- Prospecting is real-time. Pitchbox scrapes Google when you run a campaign, so the list reflects what ranks today, with metrics from your Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz or Majestic account attached.
- The AI Reply Agent works the inbox. It reads each reply, answers, makes counteroffers within a price ceiling you set, and runs fully autonomously or drafts for approval.
- Built for teams. Role-based workflow, approval steps, skill-based roles, audit logs, 25 workspaces on Advanced and unlimited on Scale, white-label client reports.
- Deliverability is watched. MXRight scores every connected mailbox daily, tracks 80+ blacklists and SPF/DKIM/DMARC; email rotation and domain reputation monitoring from Advanced.
- Digital PR is included. Journalist outreach, Hot off the Press, link reclamation, broken backlinks and resource pages come with every plan.
Cons
- One-year commitment on every plan. The billing FAQ says so; the plan cards don't. Cancel and your access, and your bill, run to the end of the term.
- Price. $300 a month buys 2 users and 2 mailboxes; the features agencies want (roles, approvals, white-label reports, API, email rotation) start at $600. Price is the most common complaint on G2.
- You bring the mailboxes. Domains, Google Workspace or Microsoft seats, SPF/DKIM/DMARC and warm-up are yours; several G2 reviewers mention blocked emails and DNS setup.
- A learning curve. Reviewers on G2 and Capterra describe a tool that takes time to master; G2's user insights put implementation at about a month.
- No AI-citation prospect source. Prospects come from keywords, SERPs, backlink indexes or a CSV. The pages ChatGPT or Google AI Mode cite for your prompts are not an input; you export them from a tracker and import.
- Monitoring stops at the link. Health, anchor text, follow status and drops are tracked; the text of a mention and your position in a listicle are not.
How Pitchbox works
Pitchbox runs link building and mention outreach as a pipeline: a campaign goes in at one end, a monitored link comes out at the other, and every stage has a screen, a role and a report. This is the path a campaign takes.
- Start a campaign. Pick a campaign type (guest posts, niche edits, resource pages, product reviews, broken links, competitor backlinks, listicles, digital PR, more than 20 in all), then give it keywords, a competitor domain, a CSV or an API feed. Pitchbox pulls the SERPs the moment you run it, so the list reflects what ranks today.
- Filter and qualify. Thresholds for DR, traffic, keyword count and referring domains from your connected SEO tool, saved as presets; country and language; a permanent blacklist; deduplication across every campaign, project and existing relationship. AI Link Farm Detection crawls each homepage for "write for us" pages and footer link spam. AI Personalization fields can score relevance from a prompt you write. The Inspection Queue is the final human pass: page, metrics and contact on one screen, approve or reject.
- Find the contact. A built-in email finder and verifier, with a contact waterfall that ranks editorial staff, authors and editors above generic addresses and reaches the top contact first. Data credits: 600,000 a year on Pro, unlimited above.
- Write and send. Smart Templates with variables and conditional logic; AI Personalization reads each site and writes the personal lines, in bulk from Advanced. Sequences run on your day intervals with Natural Sending Patterns, holiday scheduling and multi-drip. Email goes out from the Gmail, Microsoft 365, Exchange or SMTP accounts you connect: 2 on Pro, 6 on Advanced, 20 on Scale, with 2,000, 5,000 and 25,000 outreach emails a month respectively.
- Work the replies. A unified SEO Inbox with metrics beside each thread, Chasebox for follow-through, an unmatched inbox, out-of-office and auto-responder detection. The AI Reply Agent can answer and negotiate on its own, or draft for a human to approve.
- Track the link and report. Bi-lateral link monitoring watches health (301s, 404s, DNS errors), anchor text, follow status, drops and the destination page, on 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 links by plan, with Google index checks from Advanced. Reports cover campaign performance, team performance and management trends; white-label client reports from Advanced, Looker Studio on Scale.
Limits. Pitchbox says it is built for teams building 20+ links a month and sending 10,000 or more outreach emails. Below that volume it points you to its premium publisher network, a done-for-you offer with Google-verified traffic and 3-year link guarantees, with no published price. Trials are arranged through a demo, and every plan is a one-year commitment.
Pitchbox features
We look at every outreach tool through the seven steps that decide whether a campaign produces a link. For each one: what Pitchbox does, what it solves, where it stops, and how it compares with GEOboom.
1. Where the prospects come from
What it does. Keyword or category search; a SERP Scraper for advanced operators (intitle, inurl); an AI Keyword Assistant that expands a seed term into long-tail targets; competitor backlinks and broken links through your Ahrefs or Semrush data; CSV import from any tool (Pitchbox names Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz and Profound); campaigns built from sites already in your CRM; API campaigns from your own systems. Prospecting searches: 1,000 a month on Pro, 5,000 on Advanced, unlimited on Scale.
What it solves. No exporting from SEO tools and reformatting CSVs; the list is what ranks in Google today, in the country and language you chose.
Limits. The native sources are Google SERPs and backlink indexes. If the goal is a mention on the pages AI answers cite, that list lives in your AI-visibility tracker and gets in by CSV.
Compared. GEOboom takes the cited pages from your AI-visibility tracker or the prompts you track and keeps adding new ones as they appear; keywords and uploaded lists work too. For digital PR lists Pitchbox has more ways in; anything else you would export from Ahrefs or Semrush, you paste into GEOboom as a list.

2. Whether the list is filtered before you see it
What it does. Metric thresholds saved as presets, so a VA runs the same standard every time; country and language targeting; a permanent blacklist; automatic deduplication across all campaigns, projects and relationships. AI Link Farm Detection flags "write for us" pages, contributor invitations and footer link spam for mass removal. AI Personalization fields run a prompt across the whole list ("score this site's relevance to fashion from 1 to 10") and you filter on the score. The Inspection Queue is the approve-or-reject pass.
What it solves. Junk and duplicates never reach outreach, and nobody on the team cold-pitches a publisher who gave you a link last week.
Limits. Relevance is a prompt you write and a score you then filter on. Competitors' own sites, pages that already mention you and topical fit against your brand are not a default filter; you see the raw search results and cut them down.
Compared. GEOboom reads each page against your brand and topic and sets aside off-topic pages, competitors, pages that already mention you and link farms before you see the list, then orders the rest by how often they are cited. Pitchbox gives you the levers; GEOboom gives you the result.

3. Which contact it finds
What it does. A built-in finder and verifier. The contact waterfall ranks contacts by role and confidence: editorial staff, page authors and editors at the top, generic role addresses at the bottom; Pitchbox reaches the top contact first and moves down only if there is no reply. Its scoring looks at 100+ data points, and each contact carries a name, social profiles and associated publications. Advanced Contact Finder Tuning, which steers the finder toward roles you choose, starts on Advanced. Data credits: 600,000 a year on Pro, unlimited above.
What it solves. No second tool for contacts; no info@ as the first email.
Limits. Contacts come from what is on the site and in Pitchbox's data footprint. Tuning is a $600-plan feature. Capterra reviewers mention irrelevant results in some searches.
Compared. GEOboom goes to the editor from the masthead, then the article's author from the byline, then the content lead on LinkedIn, with hello@ only if nobody answers, and claims a verified contact at over 90% of sites. Pitchbox's waterfall ranks the addresses it has; GEOboom goes one step further and finds the person's current role on LinkedIn when the masthead and byline don't give it, which is why it starts with an editor rather than an address.

4. Whose mailboxes you send from
What it does. You connect Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or IMAP/SMTP on every plan; Exchange, Sendgrid, Mailgun and Mandrill from Advanced; hybrid oAuth plus SMTP on Scale. Email accounts: 2 on Pro, 6 on Advanced, 20 on Scale. MXRight deliverability monitoring is included on all plans: every mailbox scored daily, 80+ blacklists tracked, SPF, DKIM and DMARC checked, template spam testing. Email rotation, domain reputation, honeypot and spam-risk monitoring start on Advanced. Sending servers: US or UK on Pro and Advanced; DE, AU and FR added on Scale.
What it solves. You see your reputation fall before the replies dry up, and volume spreads across accounts instead of burning one.
Limits. The mailboxes, domains and warm-up are yours to buy and run: typically $60–120 a month on top for a small setup, plus the DNS work. Two accounts on Pro is thin for an agency.
Compared. GEOboom includes three warmed mailboxes on separate domains, keeps warming them while they send, runs inbox-placement tests and tracks bounces; another three cost 40 credits a month. GEOboom wins on having nothing to set up and nothing to burn: your own domain never sends a cold email. Pitchbox is the choice only if you specifically need sending servers in several regions or your own email providers.

5. Follow-ups and prioritisation
What it does. Email Sequencing on your day intervals, with Natural Sending Patterns so sends look organic. It never emails every contact at a domain at once: the best contact first, time to respond, follow-up, then the next person. Advanced and holiday scheduling, multi-drip, conditional logic templates, global templates. The Automation Builder runs When/Then rules: 4 automations and 400 actions a month on Pro, 20 and 4,000 on Advanced, 50 and 10,000 on Scale. Recurring campaigns from Advanced.
What it solves. Campaign logic designed once and reused across clients.
Limits. All of it is configuration. Pro caps you at 4 automations and 25 campaigns a month.
Compared. GEOboom runs follow-ups by default and orders outreach so the most-cited pages get the first emails; there is nothing to configure and nothing to tune. Control: Pitchbox. Zero-config: GEOboom.

6. What arrives with a reply
What it does. The SEO Inbox shows metrics beside every thread; Chasebox keeps negotiations from dying in a busy inbox; an unmatched inbox catches replies the system can't place; out-of-office and auto-responder detection, canned responses, snoozing. The AI Reply Agent reads each inbound email, decides how to respond and drives the opportunity toward the goal you set. The AI Playbook controls when it sends: fully autonomous with Send and Chase, or draft mode with a human approving every reply. It flags uncertain emails for a person, makes counteroffers within price ceilings you set, and records what it did with milestones and tags.
What it solves. Most of the back-and-forth happens without anyone reading the inbox.
Limits. The agent negotiates on your rules; it does not grade the publisher's other sites or choose which of your pages goes in. One G2 reviewer notes that out-of-office replies count as responses and inflate reply rates.
Compared. GEOboom does the reading for you instead of the talking: each reply arrives with the publisher's other sites graded good or risky (traffic, top-10 keywords, spam score), the page to insert, the offer and the price, and the answer already written. You approve or skip; the reply goes out and the agreed thread becomes a deal record. In its case study the client's whole job, across 30 offers, came to about two hours a month. Pitchbox can negotiate with nobody watching. GEOboom does everything except the one decision that costs money, the yes, and leaves that with a person; what it hands that person is the publisher's quality, the page and the price on one screen.

7. Whether anyone checks the placement afterwards
What it does. Bi-lateral Link Monitoring tracks link health, catches 301s, 404s and DNS errors, logs anchor text changes, follow and nofollow status, link drops and destination page health, and notifies you of critical changes. Google index checks from Advanced. Links monitored: 1,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Advanced, 10,000 on Scale.
What it solves. Link rot caught early, across every link the team has ever won.
Limits. It watches the link, not the mention. The text of a listicle entry and your position in the list are not tracked, and there is no drafted note to the publisher when something moves.
Compared. GEOboom checks link, anchor and nofollow plus the mention's text and position, and when something moves it sends an alert with a drafted note to the publisher asking to put it back; placements bought through Buy for you carry 12-month protection. Pitchbox counts monitored links by plan; GEOboom monitors every placement it won.

Multi-client and team
Workspaces: 1 on Pro, 25 on Advanced, unlimited on Scale. Users: 2 on Pro, unlimited above. Role-based workflow with Personalizer and Inspector approval, skill-based user roles, project-level access, email persona security, audit logs from Advanced. White-label client reports from Advanced. This is the tooling for a team of outreach specialists with a manager over them. GEOboom is built so that there is no such team: unlimited users and projects on one subscription, the mailboxes owned by the account, and one person per client, an SEO, a marketer or a junior, who approves the offers that come in.

AI
AI Campaign Assistant, AI Personalization (fields you define with a prompt, dependency chains between fields, bulk runs from Advanced), AI Template Assistant trained on tens of millions of outreach emails, AI Reply, the AI Reply Agent with playbooks, AI Keyword Assistant, AI Link Farm Detection. GEOboom's AI reads pages for filtering, writes each email about the specific page, drafts replies and blurbs, and writes the monitoring notes.

Integrations
Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz and Majestic on every plan (core SEO metrics are built in without them); Slack, Zapier and webhooks on every plan; API from Advanced; Google Data Studio and Looker Studio on Scale; SSO, SLA and security review on Enterprise. GEOboom connects AI-visibility trackers, takes uploaded lists, and builds deal records from Google Docs and attachments.

Pitchbox pricing
Pitchbox pricing is a three-tier subscription plus an Enterprise plan, billed monthly or annually, with a one-year commitment on every plan. Prices below were read from pitchbox.com/pricing on October 27, 2026.
Pitchbox pricing plans
| Pro | Advanced | Scale | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly billing | $300/mo | $600/mo | $1,200/mo |
| Annual billing | $210/mo | $420/mo | $825/mo |
| Users | 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Email accounts | 2 | 6 | 20 |
| Outreach emails / mo | 2,000 | 5,000 | 25,000 |
| Workspaces | 1 | 25 | Unlimited |
| Campaigns / mo | 25 | 1,000 | Unlimited |
| Prospecting searches / mo | 1,000 | 5,000 | Unlimited |
| Contacts | 50,000 | 200,000 | Unlimited |
| Data credits | 600,000 / yr | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Enterprise is quoted rather than listed: SSO, an SLA, a custom service agreement, a vendor security review, private training and a data retention policy.

What each step up adds. Pro has the core: email finder and verifier, AI Personalization, AI Reply Agent, AI Campaign Assistant, CRM, unified inbox, link monitoring on 1,000 links, reporting, Slack, Zapier and webhooks. Advanced adds Advanced Contact Finder Tuning, email rotation, bulk AI Personalization, deliverability monitoring beyond the basics (domain reputation, honeypot, spam-risk), recurring campaigns, role-based workflow and approvals, white-label client reports, Google index checks, 5,000 monitored links, the API, managed onboarding and a dedicated account manager. Scale adds advanced automations (50), Data Studio and Looker Studio reporting, approval workflow, hybrid oAuth/SMTP sending, multi-region sending servers and 10,000 monitored links.
Billing terms. All plans require a one-year commitment regardless of billing frequency; annual billing saves 30%. Upgrades are prorated; downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. If you cancel, access stays active until the end of the current contract period. Expert-led implementation is $2,000 (Pro), $3,000 (Advanced) or $4,000 (Scale), included with annual prepay. Free trials are arranged through a demo call, not a sign-up form. G2's pricing panel still shows Pro "starting at $165", which no longer matches the site.
Is Pitchbox pricing transparent? Mostly. The plan cards, the limits and the full comparison table are public. Two things are not on the cards: the one-year term, which sits in the billing FAQ, and the cost of the mailboxes, domains and warm-up you supply yourself.
Which plan for whom. Pro is one website and one or two people, 2,000 emails a month, no client reporting. Advanced is the agency plan: unlimited users, 25 workspaces, roles, approvals and white-label reports; most of what reviewers praise about Pitchbox for teams starts here. Scale is for 20 mailboxes and 25,000 emails a month, or for multi-region sending and Looker Studio dashboards.
What a campaign costs on Pitchbox and on GEOboom
The standard example we use across these reviews: five placements a month on DR 40–50 sites and $120 paid to each publisher — the median paid quote from the DR 40–50 publishers who have replied to our own outreach with a price, which is an assumption about publishers rather than a Pitchbox or GEOboom price. Money first, then the hours, because the hours are where the two models differ most.
| GEOboom, you pay publishers | GEOboom with Buy for you | Pitchbox Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Software | $150/mo: 3 warmed mailboxes, unlimited users and projects, SEO data, monitoring | $150/mo, the same subscription | $300/mo monthly billing, or $210/mo on annual |
| Who you write to | Only the pages that passed GEOboom's read against your site: off-topic pages, competitors, pages that already mention you and link farms set aside, the rest ordered by how often AI answers cite them | Same | What your search returned, cut down by metric thresholds and your own inspection; 2,000 outreach emails a month |
| Mailboxes and domains | Included: 3 mailboxes on separate domains, warmed before your account opens and kept warm while they send, enough for about 600 publishers a month; 3 more for 40 credits ($40) when you need them | Included, the same | None provided. Pro lets you connect 2 accounts; the domains, the Google Workspace or Microsoft seats, SPF/DKIM/DMARC and two to three weeks of warm-up before the first email are yours, typically $60–120/mo, and a mailbox that burns out is yours to replace |
| Publisher fees | 5 × $120 = $600, paid by you to five publishers: PayPal, Wise, cards, invoices, each on their own terms. $120 is the median quote rather than a ceiling — in GEOboom's case study the offers ran from free mention exchanges to about $200 | $600, paid by GEOboom from your prepaid balance | 5 × $120 = $600, paid by you to five publishers |
| Service fee | 0 | 30% per publisher payment or $40, whichever is larger. At $120 the $40 floor applies, so $200 rather than $180. One contract, one invoice, every publisher paid; 12-month placement protection | 0 |
| Monthly total | $750 | $950 | $960–1,020 monthly, $870–930 annual |
| Per placement | $150 | $190 | $174–204 |
| Your time to launch | About 10 minutes: paste the list, add your site, press start | Same | Days: campaign setup, templates, mailbox and DNS setup, warm-up |
| Your time per month | About 2 hours: read each offer with the publisher's DR and price, approve or skip, pay | About 2 hours, minus the payments | 40–70 hours for an outreach tool plus your own team, by GEOboom's estimate on its pricing page |
| Commitment | Monthly | Monthly | 12 months: $2,520–3,600 for the software alone in year one |
On money alone GEOboom paying publishers yourself is the cheapest of the three at $150 a placement, and Buy for you at $190 sits inside Pitchbox Pro's $174–204 once mailboxes are counted, with a year's commitment attached. The differences are in the other rows. The publishers are not the same publishers: on Pitchbox you write to what the search returned and vetted yourself, on GEOboom to pages already read against your site and ranked by how often AI answers cite them, so a reply there is a reply from a page where you belong. And the hours are not the same hours: GEOboom's own case study, a software company that pasted 825 URLs and got 30 publisher offers in ten days, puts the client's work at ten minutes to launch and about two hours a month after that; among those 30 offers were free mention exchanges, link insertions from $75 and listings from $100, so half the publishers behind the line above asked less than $120. Pitchbox gives you the tools to do every step well; it also leaves every step to you. Buy for you takes over the part nobody enjoys: paying a dozen small publishers through a dozen different channels and keeping the receipts, under one contract and one invoice, with the placement protected for a year.
At volume. Pitchbox sells emails: 2,000 a month on Pro, 5,000 on Advanced, 25,000 on Scale, sent to whatever the search returned, from mailboxes you supply. GEOboom doesn't meter emails at all. Each qualified publisher gets up to three contacts and a follow-up sequence that keeps going for weeks, all automatic, all included; you pay $0.50 for the publisher, which is the one thing that was selected for you, and nothing per email. A thousand qualified publishers a month, out of several thousand prospects you loaded, is about $600 on GEOboom and several thousand emails sent on your behalf; the same sending on Pitchbox is a Scale plan at $825 a month on a one-year contract, plus the mailboxes to carry it, plus the list. The number to compare is not emails sent but publishers worth writing to.
Pitchbox reviews and market feedback
Pitchbox holds 4.7/5 from 99 reviews on G2 (85 five-star, none below three), 4.6/5 from 42 reviews on Capterra with 95% positive sentiment, and a single four-star review on Trustpilot from 2022. The G2 score is the one that matters: it is the largest sample and the most recent, and Pitchbox quotes it on every page of its site.
What reviewers praise. Campaign setup is simple once learned; automated follow-ups and templates let a small team run many campaigns; prospecting is fast; reporting is customisable and clients accept it; the Ahrefs, Semrush and Moz integrations save time; account managers and support answer quickly. Agency reviewers single out the role separation, which lets them run outreach as an assembly line.
What reviewers complain about. Price is the most common complaint on both sites, usually from small teams who find the feature set bigger than their need. Several say the platform takes time to learn and the navigation is unintuitive. A few report blocked emails, email connectivity issues and complex SPF/DKIM/DMARC setup, with Google Workspace seats as an extra cost. One found contact suggestions spammy; one says out-of-office replies count as responses; one that task assignment gets cumbersome for large teams; the unmatched inbox comes up twice on Capterra as the clumsiest screen.
Two caveats. G2 flags that some reviews were invited by the vendor. And most Capterra reviews are from 2018–2021, before the AI Reply Agent, AI Link Farm Detection and the contact waterfall existed, so there is almost no independent feedback yet on the features Pitchbox now leads with. The complaints that are structural rather than historical are price and the mailbox setup; both follow from the model, not from a version.
If you are deciding on Pitchbox today, treat the G2 score as evidence that the workflow holds up at agency scale and that support is good, and test the AI Reply Agent on a trial before you count on it.
Pitchbox alternatives
We keep a full list in Pitchbox alternatives. The short version, grouped by what you are replacing:
- GEOboom: outreach software for the same job with the infrastructure included. It pulls the pages your AI-visibility tracker says are cited, filters them page by page, finds the editor, sends from three warmed mailboxes it provides, writes and sends the replies you approve, and monitors the mention afterwards; $150 a month, no contract, unlimited projects and users. Launching takes about ten minutes and running it about two hours a month. The pick for an in-house SEO or marketer, or an agency running citation outreach for its clients, who wants the placements without building an outreach operation. Full comparison in Pitchbox vs GEOboom.
- BuzzStream: the closest like-for-like for teams that want an outreach CRM without the contract. From $49 a month, PR-leaning, link monitoring on every plan; you bring lists, templates and mailboxes. See BuzzStream vs GEOboom.
- Respona: no longer software. A done-for-you placement service that bills $100–500 when the link is live, for teams that want links delivered rather than a platform to run. See Respona vs GEOboom and our Respona review.
- FATJOE: an outsourced link-building service with fixed prices per placement, from $72 at DR 10+ to $456 at DR 60+, white label and a lifetime guarantee. See FATJOE vs GEOboom.
- MentionAgent: an agent for mutual mention swaps on a single site, $99 a month, inbox included; the budget option when one site and free exchanges are the whole brief.
- Snov.io: the cheapest finder, verifier, warm-up and sequences in one place, from $39 a month, built for sales rather than SEO.
For the full seven-tool comparison, see Best AI link building and outreach software.
Pitchbox vs GEOboom
Both run link building and mention outreach and both now ship AI for writing and replies. Three facts that decide between them:
- Where the list comes from. Pitchbox prospects from keywords, SERPs, backlink indexes and CSVs, then filters by metrics and the prompts you write. GEOboom starts from the pages your AI-visibility tracker says are cited, sets aside competitors, existing mentions and link farms, and orders the rest by how often they are cited.
- What it costs to send the first email. Pitchbox is $300 a month on a one-year contract, plus the domains, mailboxes and warm-up you supply. GEOboom is $150 a month, monthly, with three warmed mailboxes included.
- What is watched afterwards. Pitchbox tracks link health, anchor text, follow status and drops on up to 10,000 links. GEOboom tracks the same plus the mention's text and position in the list, and drafts the note to the publisher when something moves.
At five DR 40–50 placements a month the cost per placement is $150 on GEOboom paying publishers directly and $174–204 on Pitchbox Pro once mailboxes are counted; the time is about two hours a month against the 40–70 hours an outreach tool plus a team takes. Pitchbox is for the team that wants to run outreach; GEOboom is for the company or agency that wants the mentions and has nobody to run it. Full breakdown, worked example and scoring in Pitchbox alternatives.
Who should use Pitchbox, and who should look elsewhere
Pitchbox is a good fit if:
- you build 20 or more links a month and run outreach as a team with roles, approvals and client reports;
- digital PR, journalist outreach or link reclamation are part of the work;
- you want to design the campaign logic yourself: conditional templates, When/Then automations, recurring campaigns;
- you already own warmed sending domains and want to keep using them, or need multi-region sending;
- you need an API, Looker Studio dashboards or audit logs, and a year's commitment is fine.
You may need an alternative if:
- your prospect list is the pages ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and other answer engines cite, and you want it pulled in and filtered rather than exported and imported;
- you don't want to buy domains, set DNS and warm mailboxes before the first email;
- you run several clients but can't justify $600 a month for the plan that has roles, approvals and white-label reports;
- you need to know when a mention's text or list position changes, not only the link;
- you won't sign for twelve months to find out whether outreach works for you.
Is Pitchbox worth it? For an agency or in-house team already doing link building at volume, yes: the workflow is the deepest in the category and the reviews back that up. For a team under 20 links a month, or one whose goal is AI citations specifically, the contract and the setup cost more than the depth returns.
FAQ
What is Pitchbox?
Pitchbox is an outreach platform for link building and digital PR. It finds publisher sites from keywords, SERPs or backlink data, finds and ranks the contacts, sends personalised sequences from the mailboxes you connect, handles replies with an AI Reply Agent, and tracks won links. It is sold as a subscription with a one-year commitment.
How much does Pitchbox cost?
Pro is $300 a month, or $210 a month billed annually, for 2 users, 2 email accounts and 2,000 outreach emails. Advanced is $600 ($420 annual) with unlimited users, 6 accounts and 25 workspaces. Scale is $1,200 ($825 annual) with 20 accounts and 25,000 emails. Enterprise is custom. Every plan requires a one-year commitment. Prices as of October 2026.
Does Pitchbox have a free trial?
Yes, but not self-serve. Free trials are arranged through a demo call with a product specialist.
Does Pitchbox require a contract?
Yes. All plans require a commitment of one year regardless of whether you pay monthly or annually. If you cancel, access and billing continue to the end of the contract period.
Is Pitchbox safe to use?
For your domain, it depends on what you connect: Pitchbox sends from your own accounts, so use dedicated sending domains, set SPF, DKIM and DMARC and warm them first. MXRight deliverability monitoring is included and scores every mailbox daily. Several G2 reviewers mention blocked emails and DNS setup as the hard part. For SEO, Pitchbox's own AI Link Farm Detection and blacklist exist to keep junk out of your campaigns; the quality of the links is as good as the list you build.
Can Pitchbox do AI-visibility (AEO) outreach?
Its Scale plan is sold for link building and AEO outreach, and its sequences and reply agent work for any list. What it doesn't do is pull the cited pages from an AI-visibility tracker or filter them against your brand; you export that list and import it as a CSV campaign.
What is the difference between Pitchbox and GEOboom?
Pitchbox is a campaign builder: you bring prospects, templates and mailboxes, and it gives you the deepest workflow in the category, including digital PR, roles and white-label reports. GEOboom is an agent for one job, getting your brand onto the pages AI answers cite, with prospects pulled from your tracker, editorial contacts found, three warmed mailboxes included, replies written for your approval and the mention monitored afterwards, at $150 a month with no contract and about two hours of your time a month.
Is Pitchbox worth it?
If you build 20+ links a month as a team and want control over every stage, yes. If you are smaller, want mailboxes included, or need a prospect list built from AI citations, look at the alternatives first.
How this review was prepared
Who wrote it. Oleksii Andrusenko runs GrowPad, an SEO and GEO agency, and co-founded GEOboom after GrowPad's clients kept asking to get into ChatGPT. Reviewed by Artur, GEOboom's CTO. GEOboom competes with Pitchbox; this review says so wherever it affects a judgement and lists the cases where Pitchbox is the better choice.
What we checked. Pitchbox's home page, pricing page with the full plan comparison table and billing FAQ, product overview, prospecting, AI, outreach and reports pages, all on October 27, 2026. The 99 Pitchbox reviews on G2 and 42 on Capterra as of the same date, read for recurring themes and for whether they describe the current product. GEOboom pricing and features are from geoboom.io on the same date.
What we didn't do. We did not run paid campaigns on Pitchbox for this review; hands-on notes come from its demo, help centre and public walkthroughs. Reply rates and other outcomes quoted for either tool are the vendor's own figures. The cost example rests on two assumptions, both stated with it: five placements a month, and a $120 publisher fee — the median paid quote from the DR 40–50 publishers who have replied to our own outreach with a price, 10 of them as of October 2026. Half asked less, half more, and the spread runs from $50 to $3,000.
How we judge tools. On the seven steps that decide whether outreach produces a link: where the pages come from, whether the list is filtered and visible, which contact is found, whose mailboxes send, how follow-ups run, what arrives with a reply, and what is monitored afterwards. Depth of campaign tooling, digital PR and integrations are described but not scored, because they matter to a different buyer.
If something has changed, email artur@geoboom.io and we'll fix it.
