What Are the Best AI Link Building Tools in 2026? 8 Picks Compared

Eight tools where AI finds the page, writes the pitch and sends it. They differ in where the AI stops: at a draft, at your approval, or at the deal itself.

The AI writes it. Someone still says yes.

The best AI link building tool is the one that stops where you want it to. All eight here find the pages, find the editor, write the pitch and send it. What separates them is the reply. GEOboom turns each one into an offer with the site's numbers and a drafted answer, so your part is a yes or no. Pitchbox can run the whole conversation, price talk included. BacklinkGPT negotiates the fee inside a budget you set. MentionAgent, AutoBacklinks, Linkee AI, BacklinkBot and Mentiohunt hand you the thread and let you close it.

Prices run from $49 a month to $300 on a one-year contract. Publisher fees are on top with every one of them except two, and those two are the interesting ones.

We checked every pricing page on November 5, 2026. Disclosure: this list is written by the GEOboom team. GEOboom is our product and is listed first; every other tool is described from its own site and public reviews.

An AI link building tool takes over the slow parts of outreach. We compared six things.

  • Where the prospects come from. Pages that rank in Google, competitor backlinks, or the pages AI answers cite. In a G2 survey of more than 1,000 B2B software buyers, half said they now start the buying journey in an AI chatbot instead of Google Search — a 71% jump in four months (October 2025).
  • How far the AI goes. Finding, writing, sending, following up, answering, negotiating.
  • What you approve. Each pitch, each offer, or each payment.
  • Whose mailboxes send. Your own inbox, where warm-up is your problem, or mailboxes the tool sets up and warms.
  • What happens after the link goes live. Whether the tool checks it, and what it does if it drops.
  • Price and commitment. A monthly plan, credits, or a contract.

We only kept live tools that show prices on their site.

AI link building means software does the outreach steps a person used to do by hand. Most AI link building outreach runs in five steps.

  • Find the pages. In search results, in competitor backlinks, or in AI answers, and keep the ones that fit your site.
  • Find the person. The editor or the author, not the info@ inbox.
  • Write the pitch. About that page, and where your brand belongs in it.
  • Send and follow up. From your inbox or from a domain the tool runs.
  • Handle the reply. This is where the tools split. Some forward you the thread; others sort, draft or negotiate.

AI cannot make an editor say yes, and generic pitches sent in bulk get ignored. With every tool here a person still decides something: the pitch, the offer, or the payment.

GEOboom is first as our pick for the pages AI answers cite. The other seven are ordered by how far their AI goes with a reply, from Pitchbox, which can close a deal without you, down to the agents that stop at the first answer. 1. GEOboom: best for mentions on the pages AI answers cite

Type: Link building and mention outreach software.

Best for: in-house SEOs, marketers and agencies that want to be named on the pages AI answers cite, with no outreach team.

GEOboom reads every page against your site, finds the editor, and sends the emails and follow-ups for weeks from mailboxes that were warmed before you signed up. Each reply comes back as an offer with the site's traffic, top keywords and spam score, and a drafted answer. You approve or skip, and pay the publisher — directly, or through Buy for You.

Key features

  • Pages AI answers cite. From your AI-visibility tracker, from your buyers' keywords and questions, or from a list of your own.
  • The AI reads every page. Off-topic pages, competitors, pages that already mention you and link farms are set aside before anyone is written to, and cost nothing.
  • Editors, not info@. Verified contacts at over 90% of sites, up to three per publisher.
  • Mailboxes ready on day one. Three warmed mailboxes on GEOboom's own domains come with the plan, so the first emails go out the day your account opens.
  • Exchanges. A spot on your list for a spot on theirs, for $0 in publisher fees.
  • Monitoring. Daily checks on every placement. If one drops, GEOboom emails the publisher itself and tells you it did.

GEOboom's mailbox section: domains bought and configured, SPF, DKIM and DMARC set, mailboxes warmed and ramped, ongoing warm-up while they send, inbox-placement tests and bounce rates tracked

Pricing: $150 a month, with 50 credits, three mailboxes, unlimited users and unlimited projects. Each publisher written to for the first time costs half a credit, follow-ups and every contact at that domain included, so 50 credits reach 100 publishers; extra credits are $1. SEO data and monitoring are in the plan. Publisher fees are separate, and Buy for You turns many small publishers into one contract and one invoice for 30% per payment (minimum $40), with 12 months of placement protection. As of November 2026, geoboom.io.

Pros

  • Your part is a yes or no on each offer, plus the payment.
  • About 10 minutes to launch and about 2 hours a month to approve and pay.
  • Exchanges cost $0 in publisher fees.

Cons

  • No digital PR or journalist pitching.
  • No marketplace to buy placements from.
  • Not done-for-you: you approve each offer.

In practice: one client got 30 publisher offers in 10 days for about 10 minutes of work. For GrowPad, one email won a spot on the listicle Google's AI Overview cites, 18 days after the first email. GrowPad also took 64 exchange offers and paid publishers nothing. A design studio got 7 live placements on DR 34–78 sites at about $188 each, all in. Start with one project on GEOboom.

2. Pitchbox: best for agencies that want the AI to close deals on its own

Type: AI outreach platform.

Best for: agencies and in-house teams building 20+ links a month.

Pitchbox calls itself "The AI Outreach Platform for link building and AEO." Its AI Reply Agent drafts answers for you to approve, or takes the thread over completely: the reply, the price talk, and the chase for the link. It is the only tool here that will agree a deal while you are asleep.

Key features

  • AI Reply Agent with playbooks. Draft only, or reply and chase on its own, on conditions you set.
  • AI fit scoring for each prospect against the prompt you write.
  • More than 20 campaign types, including Google results, competitor backlinks, resource pages, broken links and digital PR.
  • MX Right deliverability monitoring on every plan: each mailbox scored daily, 80+ blacklists, SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
Pitchbox's AI Reply Agent screen: 41 runs, 2 skips, 39 drafts, 95% success rate, with a Guest Post Negotiation playbook and a condition that fires when a reply lands
Pitchbox's AI Reply Agent screen: 41 runs, 2 skips, 39 drafts, 95% success rate, with a Guest Post Negotiation playbook and a condition that fires when a reply lands

Pricing: Pro $300 a month ($210 paid yearly) with 2 email accounts and 2,000 outreach emails, Advanced $600 ($420) with 6, and Scale $1,200 ($825) with 20. Every plan carries a one-year commitment. Trials are arranged through a demo call. As of November 5, 2026, pitchbox.com.

Pros

  • The AI can close a deal without you, inside your playbook.
  • Deep prospecting against Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz and Majestic data.
  • 4.7 on G2 from 99 reviews, the largest sample here.

Cons

  • A one-year contract on every plan, whichever way you pay.
  • You bring, warm and pay for the mailboxes.
  • Built for volume, so the entry plan is $300 a month for 2,000 emails.

3. BacklinkGPT: best for founders who want the AI to talk fees

Type: AI link building agent.

Best for: founders promoting their own site, with no SEO team. Its site says plainly that it is not built for agencies.

BacklinkGPT's pitch is "Hire an AI agent to earn your backlinks. No SEO team needed." It judges pages from search results and competitor backlinks, writes a verdict on each, finds the person behind it, and pitches from your own inbox or LinkedIn. Then it follows up and negotiates the fee inside the budget you set. You approve every payment and pay the site yourself.

Key features

  • A written verdict for every page: keep, drop, or a second look, with the reason.
  • Email and LinkedIn outreach from your own accounts.
  • Pitches wait for your approval until you have approved five in a row with few edits.
  • Fee talks inside your budget, with counter-offers. Set the budget to $0 and it chases free placements only.
BacklinkGPT's agent screen: 151 pages scanned, 14 worth pursuing, each with a KEEP or SECOND LOOK verdict, DR, linking sites, a fit grade, the ask, and the editor's name and address
BacklinkGPT's agent screen: 151 pages scanned, 14 worth pursuing, each with a KEEP or SECOND LOOK verdict, DR, linking sites, a fit grade, the ask, and the editor's name and address

Pricing: Starter $149 a month (6 pitches a day, 1 inbox), Growth $399 (12 a day, up to 3 inboxes) and Scale $999 (25 a day, up to 6). Site fees are separate, and its own page says most sites ask $75 to $250. There is no free trial, but a free preview needs no card. As of November 5, 2026, backlinkgpt.com.

Pros

  • The AI handles the fee conversation inside a budget you set.
  • LinkedIn outreach alongside email.
  • A free preview before you pay anything.

Cons

  • Not built for agencies or for client sites, by its own description.
  • Slow to first result: its own estimate is replies in weeks 2–3 and links live in weeks 3–6.
  • Only 7 reviews on G2, at 4.4.

4. MentionAgent: best for free mention swaps on a domain it runs for you

Type: AI mention-swap agent.

Best for: small brands and single sites that want mentions without paying publishers, and without putting their own domain into cold email.

MentionAgent sells "AI Link Building & AEO Outreach on Autopilot." It finds posts that rank for your buyers, gets the editor's address, and writes a pitch about their post, from an inbox on a domain it registers and warms for you. When someone replies, it drafts your answer and keeps following up. The model is the swap: it offers them a line on a post you have already published, and its FAQ says it turns down sites that ask for a fee.

Key features

  • One sending inbox per site, on a separate domain it warms for you, carrying up to 40 cold emails a day once warm.
  • Up to 1,200 emails a month and 5,000 credits (about 2,500 drafts) on the entry plan.
  • Drafted replies and follow-ups, and a record of each live mention.
  • AI visibility checks in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, twice a month.
  • Runs from Claude, Cursor or any MCP client, as well as the dashboard.

Pricing: Starter $99 a month for one site, one inbox and 5,000 credits; Growth $179 with 2 inboxes, Scale $329 with 4, Agency $629 with 8, and extra client sites at $99 each. You can start free and see real drafts with no card, and there is a 14-day money-back guarantee. As of November 5, 2026, mentionagent.ai.

Pros

  • Publisher fees are $0, because the agent will not buy a placement.
  • Your own domain stays out of cold email.
  • AI visibility tracking is included at the entry price.

Cons

  • Swaps only. If the page you want charges, this tool will walk away from it.
  • One sending inbox per site, at 40 emails a day.
  • You close each deal yourself, and there is no G2 profile to read.

Type: AI link building outreach tool.

Best for: small teams and agencies running outreach for a few sites on one plan.

AutoBacklinks scans competitor backlinks and the pages ChatGPT cites, scores each site against your niche, and sends AI-drafted pitches from your own mailbox on a schedule. Its AI Reply Analyzer is the part worth paying for: it reads a long publisher reply, pulls out every price, placement type and payment term, and scores the offer before you answer it.

Key features

  • Six scan types: guest posts, link insertions, product reviews, niche directories, competitor backlinks, and the pages ChatGPT cites for buyer questions.
  • Sends from Gmail, Google Workspace or any SMTP provider, from your own domain, with free warm-up.
  • AI Reply Analyzer: price, placement type and payment terms pulled out of each reply, with a deal score.
  • Runs from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Gemini over MCP, with credit spend and sending held for your approval.

AutoBacklinks reading a publisher's reply about traffictail.com: offer extracted, link insertion USD 80 and guest post USD 100, upfront payment, 3 to 5 days, scored GREAT DEAL 84/100

Pricing: Starter $49 a month, a launch price against a list price of $79, with 2,500 credits, 2 sites and 2 mailboxes; Growth $179 with 7,500 credits and 5 sites; Scale $399 with 20,000 credits and 25 sites. A 7-day trial with 120 credits needs a card. As of November 5, 2026, autobacklinks.ai.

Pros

  • AI that reads and scores replies, at the lowest entry price here.
  • The pages ChatGPT cites are one of its six prospect sources.
  • Two sites on the entry plan, and it says it replaces a $225-a-month stack.

Cons

  • Credits go quickly: one prospect, its verified email and one AI email cost 5 credits, so 2,500 credits is about 500 contacts.
  • You negotiate every deal yourself.
  • No G2 profile.

6. Linkee AI: best for a prospect list with relevance scores attached

Type: AI link building automation.

Best for: SEOs and agencies running guest post and niche edit campaigns at volume.

Linkee pulls prospects from its own site database, from an Ahrefs or Semrush export, or from a partner list, and scores every one for relevance against your keywords. Then it finds verified addresses and runs the outreach with scheduled follow-ups. Replies come to you.

Key features

  • A relevance score for every prospect, with an optional manual clean-up pass.
  • Filters by DA, spam score, word count and language, with PBNs, broken links and non-secure sites removed, and deduplication against sites you have already written to.
  • A built-in email finder and verifier, plus Ahrefs metrics on each row.
  • Scheduled outreach with automatic follow-ups, and a CRM from the Pro plan.
Linkee's prospect list: each URL scored for relevancy as a percentage, with a Match or Mismatch label, and buttons to clean up the list or pull Moz metrics
Linkee's prospect list: each URL scored for relevancy as a percentage, with a Match or Mismatch label, and buttons to clean up the list or pull Moz metrics

Pricing: Essential $97 a month ($80.83 paid yearly) with 10,000 credits, Pro $197 ($164.17) with a CRM, and Agency $358 ($298.33) with unlimited email accounts. A 14-day trial with 500 credits needs no card. As of November 5, 2026, linkee.ai.

Pros

  • A large prospect database is built in, so you do not need an Ahrefs seat to start.
  • Relevance scores cut the weak sites before a single email goes out.
  • A free trial with no card.

Cons

  • Replies and deals are entirely yours.
  • Its own pages disagree with themselves: the database is "5M+ websites" in one paragraph and "12 million websites" two paragraphs later, and the Essential plan has 2 email accounts in the pricing table and 1 in the FAQ.
  • Only 4 reviews on G2, at 4.8.

7. BacklinkBot: best for founders who want to approve every pitch

Type: AI SEO agent.

Best for: SaaS and B2B founders who want to read each pitch before it goes out.

BacklinkBot works the pages that already rank for your buyers' searches, finds the editor, and writes a pitch that quotes their page. Nothing sends until you approve it. Follow-ups stop after day 7, replies land in your own inbox, and it keeps checking that each link it won is still there.

Key features

  • Prospects from the pages that rank for your keywords, each with a stated reason for making the cut.
  • Approve-first sending from inboxes you connect, ramped up slowly.
  • Two follow-ups, on day 3 and day 7, and then silence. Never a third.
  • Weekly link checks. A lost link reopens its thread, and it tracks your Domain Rating monthly.
BacklinkBot's drafted pitch to the editor of a best AI note takers round-up, waiting on an Approve and send button, beside the thread: pitch on day 0, follow-up on day 3, a reply on day 5, and the day 7 follow-up skipped
BacklinkBot's drafted pitch to the editor of a best AI note takers round-up, waiting on an Approve and send button, beside the thread: pitch on day 0, follow-up on day 3, a reply on day 5, and the day 7 follow-up skipped

Pricing: Starter $49 a month for 1 site, $19 for the first month; Pro $99 for 3 sites; Growth $199 for 10. No free trial, and no contract. As of November 5, 2026, backlinkbot.ai.

Pros

  • You see and approve every email before it goes.
  • It verifies each new link is live and followed, and reopens the thread when one is lost.
  • $19 for the first month, which is the cheapest way to see any of these tools work.

Cons

  • Prospects come from Google results only, so the pages AI answers cite are not an input.
  • Replies and deals are yours.
  • No G2 reviews yet.

8. Mentiohunt: best for outreach that runs without you

Type: AI link-building agent.

Best for: founders and small teams who sell online and want new opportunities arriving every day.

Mentiohunt matches sites to your articles and your competitors, writes a fit reason for each, and sends the outreach on its own — there is no approval step by default. You watch the queue and cancel anything that is not a fit. Emails go from Mentiohunt's own warmed sending pool rather than your domain, and the moment a prospect replies the thread is forwarded to you.

Key features

  • About 25 opportunities a day, matched to your articles and up to 10 competitors.
  • A plain-English fit reason and placement angle for every site in the queue.
  • Its own warmed sending pool, so bounces and complaints stay off your domain, plus unlimited outreach inbox accounts.
  • 200 backlinks monitored daily, and you can query the pipeline from Claude, Codex or the API.
Mentiohunt's queue: four sites matched to a guide on startup distribution, each with a one-line fit reason, beside a draft ready for a founder tools directory
Mentiohunt's queue: four sites matched to a guide on startup distribution, each with a one-line fit reason, beside a draft ready for a founder tools directory

Pricing: Pro $49 a month, against a list price of $79, for 1 site and 10 competitors; Agency $99 (list $149) for up to 5 sites from one shared mailbox. A free preview needs no card and sends nothing; the 7-day trial starts the outreach and needs one. As of November 5, 2026, mentiohunt.com.

Pros

  • The lowest running cost here for outreach that genuinely runs itself.
  • Unlimited inboxes, free warm-up, and your own domain never sends.
  • Link monitoring is included in the $49.

Cons

  • No approval before each email, only a cancel window while it sits in the queue.
  • It stops dead at the first reply, which is the part that takes the time.
  • No G2 profile.

Take five placements a month and a $120 publisher fee. The seven tools that pitch paid sites land between $130 and $180 per placement, and GEOboom at $150. The two that pay publishers nothing are MentionAgent, which only swaps, and GEOboom's exchanges.

Where the cheap agents get expensive. Five tools here cost $10 to $20 less per placement than GEOboom. What the difference buys is the part none of them include: three mailboxes already warmed on GEOboom's own domains, so the first emails go out the day you sign up rather than three weeks later, and a reply that arrives as an offer with the site's traffic, keywords and spam score next to a drafted answer. Your job is a yes or no, about 2 hours a month. On the cheaper agents the reply is a raw email in your inbox and the negotiation is yours, which is the part that costs hours rather than dollars.

Where the swap model wins outright. MentionAgent at $20 a placement and GEOboom exchanges at $30 both work because nobody pays a publisher. The limit is the same for both: it only works on sites willing to trade, and MentionAgent walks away from every site that asks for money. GEOboom will pitch those sites too and bring you the price.

How we got these numbers. Each tool's entry plan for one site, divided by five, plus a $120 publisher fee — except MentionAgent and GEOboom exchanges, where there is no fee to add. The $120 is our assumption for a DR 40–50 site, inside the $50 to $150 middle range LinkDR reports for DR 40–49 sites, where the median guest post is $90 (September 2026). LinkDR sells link building, so that is a vendor's number. Buy for You adds 30% with a $40 minimum. Exchanges assume you have a list of your own to trade a spot on. No tool here promises a number of placements.

Start with how far you want the AI to go, then check whose mailboxes it sends from.

  • GEOboom if you want mentions on the pages AI answers cite, with mailboxes ready on day one and each reply arriving as an offer.
  • Pitchbox if you build 20+ links a month and want the AI to close deals on its own.
  • BacklinkGPT if you are a founder who wants the AI to handle the fee conversation.
  • MentionAgent if you want swaps only, on a domain that is not yours.
  • AutoBacklinks if you want replies read and scored for you at the lowest price.
  • Linkee AI if you want a big prospect database with relevance scores attached.
  • BacklinkBot if you want to read and approve every pitch.
  • Mentiohunt if you want opportunities arriving daily and will take over at the first reply.

For in-house SEOs and agencies that want to be named on the pages AI answers cite, GEOboom is our pick: about 10 minutes to launch, offers from the next day, and $0 in publisher fees on exchanges. Start with one project on GEOboom.

AI link building tools: FAQ

What is AI link building?

It is link building where software does the outreach steps: finding the pages, finding the editor, writing the pitch, sending it and following up. Some tools also sort, draft or negotiate the replies. An editor still decides whether to add you.

What are the best AI link building tools in 2026?

GEOboom is our pick for mentions on the pages AI answers cite. Pitchbox can close a deal on its own, and BacklinkGPT negotiates fees inside your budget. MentionAgent, AutoBacklinks, Linkee AI, BacklinkBot and Mentiohunt find the sites and pitch them, and leave the deals to you.

Can AI build backlinks on autopilot?

Partly. AI can find the pages, write and send the pitches and follow up, and a few tools answer the replies and negotiate. But an editor still decides, and every tool here keeps one human step: the pitch, the offer, or the payment.

How much do AI link building tools cost?

From $49 a month (AutoBacklinks, BacklinkBot, Mentiohunt) to $300 on a one-year contract (Pitchbox). GEOboom is $150. Add a $120 publisher fee and five placements a month come to $649–$900, or $750 on GEOboom. Mention swaps cost nothing in publisher fees: $99 on MentionAgent, $150 on GEOboom.

What is AI outreach for link building?

It is email to editors and site owners, written and sent with AI, to win a mention or a link. AI outreach for sales pitches buyers instead, and the tools on this list are not built for that.

Which AI link building tools find the pages AI answers cite?

GEOboom pulls them from your AI-visibility tracker or your buyers' questions. AutoBacklinks has a scan for the pages ChatGPT cites. MentionAgent and Pitchbox both describe their outreach as aimed at AI answers as well as Google. The rest work from Google results and competitor backlinks.

How this list was prepared

Who wrote it. Oleksii Andrusenko, co-founder of GEOboom and CEO of GrowPad. Reviewed by Artur, CTO of GEOboom.

What we checked. On November 5, 2026 we looked at the top US Google results for "ai link building tools", "ai link building software", "ai outreach for link building" and three related keywords, and read the pricing and feature pages of all eight tools. Screenshots come from each tool's own site, GEOboom's included.

Where a number was hard to get. backlinkgpt.com, mentionagent.ai and g2.com all answer a plain request with a 403, so those figures were read through a rendering fetch and, for G2, from G2's own product pages as indexed that day; review counts move daily. Linkee's pricing page opens on the annual toggle, so the monthly prices here ($97, $197, $358) are the ones shown when you switch it off. Mentiohunt's list prices ($79 and $149) are on its homepage rather than its pricing page.

What we didn't do. We didn't run paid plans of the other seven tools. Where a tool's site does not say something — how many emails a plan carries, what happens to a lost link — we say so rather than guess. We dropped one quote the draft carried for BacklinkBot because it is not on its site today.

Assumptions. Five placements a month and a $120 publisher fee are our figures for the cost example; the publisher price range comes from LinkDR, which sells link building. The 2–8 placements a month for GEOboom is our own estimate from 100 publishers reached.

Disclosure. GEOboom is our product, and it is listed first. GrowPad, named in our case studies, is run by GEOboom's co-founder. Every other tool is described from its own pages, and we update prices when they change.
